Setting up a New E-mail Account in Outlook 2003

To setup a new e-mail account in Outlook 2003, follow the steps below.
First, click Tools, E-mail Accounts.

Click Add a new e-mail account, then click Next.

Select POP3 as the Server Type, then click Next.

Enter your e-mail account information within the appropriate boxes.
- Enter your name as you want it to appear to others when you send e-mail, and your complete e-mail address.
- Enter your POP3 and SMTP server details.
- Enter your complete e-mail address as your User Name, then type your password
in the box designated Password. (Your password is case sensitive.)
DO NOT CHECK the option to "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)".
Click More Settings to continue.

On the General tab, enter your e-mail address in the Mail Account
box. This is how Outlook 2003 will refer to the e-mail account internally.
- Enter your e-mail address (not case sensitive).

Organization: Optional (not required)
Reply E-mail: Optional (not required)

On the Outgoing Server tab:
- Check the option My outgoing server
(SMTP) requires authentication,
and select Use same settings as my incoming mail server
from the list.

On the Advanced tab:
- Ensure the port numbers are accurate. The values should be 110
for POP3 and 587 for SMTP.
- Optionally, check the box to Leave a copy
of messages on the server, also Check the box to Remove
from server after a given duration, and set the number of days. 3 days
or less is preferred.
Click OK when finished.

Click on the Test Account Settings button to
test your new account. Outlook 2003 will return an error if one exists.
Click Next and Finish to
exit the e-mail account settings window. You're done! Congratulations!
