How to Use the Plesk Spam FilterSpamAssassin TrainingYou should have received a e-mail from Plesk when your account was created. You will need to check this e-mail for your unique login and password information to access the Plesk interface. Once you've located the e-mail use this link to access the login screen. Plesk Login Links for Win server and Nix serverUse the above link to access your Plesk account and access your e-mail online. Plesk Login ScreenAt the Plesk Login screen type in your user name (not your e-mail address) and password that you received in an e-mail when your Plesk account was created. If you do not have one or cannot locate the e-mail call your host at: (209) 565-12PD for instructions. After you have successfully logged in, click Home on the left side of the screen (see image left). Select an e-mail address from the list, located at the bottom of the screen (see image right). Note: You may have only one account like this example. Next click on the Mail icon, located under "Services" (see image left). Select an e-mail address from the list (you may only have one) to tune. (See image right.)
Begin Training SessionClick Spam Filter, located near the top of the page on the right-hand side (see image left). Finally, click the Training icon, to begin your training session (see image right). Go through the list of messages within the list, checking the boxes for all the spam, then click the It's spam link at the top. Likewise, tick the boxes for all the "ham" (not spam) in the list and click the It's not spam link. This is a bayesian filter and will help tune the spam controls specific to your actual needs, making messages with consistent content or structure get marked as spam.
Changing your Spam ScoreAlternatively, you can also reduce the spamassassin score from 7 down as far as 5 (if you go lower I **guarantee** it'll mark legitimate mail as spam). If it's 6 or above, you can check the box to delete messages instead of just flag them as spam. This will completely eliminate the spam though, so BE CAREFUL, since it will prevent you from ever recovering lost messages. |
