Changing an E-mail Account in Thunderbird

To edit an existing e-mail account in Thunderbird, follow the steps below.
This is most often necessary when it was originally setup incorrectly.

Click Tools, Account Settings.

On the left, click Outgoing Server (SMTP),
then click the email account, and the Edit button.

Set the Port to 587.
Ensure that Use secure connection is set to No.
Click OK.

Click the Email account, then select
the SMTP account to created above.

Click the Server Settings item on the
left associated with your account.
- Ensure the Port is 110.
- Ensure that Use secure connection is set to Never.
- Optionally, check the box to Leave messages on server,
and For at most, in order to leave a copy of your messages on the server
temporarily.
Click OK to
exit the e-mail account settings window. You're done! Congratulations!
